Have you ever seen people wearing fringes at the ends of their clothes or prayer shawls? The fringe is known as a tzitsit (pronounced tseet-tseet). It is a tassel bound with a blue thread and is to be worn at the four corners of one’s garment. Our Constitution states the following: Numbers 15:38-39 “Speak to the Israelites, and tell them to make fringes on the corner of their garments throughout their generations and to put a blue cord on the fringe at each corner. You have the fringe so that, when you see it, you will remember and do all my commandments.”
